X & Ivy are an Australian–American electronic duo carving out a distinctive space in the global underground. Fusing the raw pulse of early Chicago house and Detroit techno with breakbeat energy, acid textures, and the proggy flair of ’90s UK rave, their sound balances emotional depth with peak-time intensity. Formed in 2016 and shaped by roots in Melbourne and California, the duo bonded at USC over late-night sessions and a shared obsession with the dancefloor, committing full-time after their first out-of-state DJ shows in 2018.
Their rhythm-driven, genre-agnostic output has drawn comparisons to both classic pioneers and new-school innovators. Releases on Nervous Records and Big Trouble Records laid the groundwork, while Keep Me—their breakout collaboration with UKG legend and Daft Punk collaborator Todd Edwards—received major support from BBC Radio 1 (Danny Howard, Pete Tong), Capital Dance, and Kiss FM. In 2025, X & Ivy enter a new chapter with their debut EP on Life and Death, signed instantly by DJ Tennis. Already championed by artists like Roza Terenzi and Jennifer Loveless, the EP delivers a bold, feeling-first blend of house, techno, and garage, mirroring the duo’s refined yet unpredictable live sets.
