Event Description
Far beneath the cobbled streets of the city, where time drips slow and moss grows philosophical, the Gargoyle Below breathes loudly. On this third descent, pass the crumbling threshold and follow the echo. Down here, the air is thick with mystery. Mimi J and Milkpaste will kick us off, conjuring from wax back-to-back to summon sound from the bones of the earth. Later, as midnight stretches and reality softens, Harry Court and Unprotected Success will continue the journey digitally and prove that, despite their ancient origins, gargoyles do not fear cyberspace.

MIMI J
Mimi J is a South Korean vinyl DJ based in Sydney/Eora, known for her uplifting, high-energy sets that light up dance floors. Her sound spans deep house, house, electro, techno, and hardgroove—always rooted in rhythm, emotion, and groove.
Influenced by the legacy of Chicago house, Mimi blends timeless records with bold, contemporary cuts, delivering sets that are both precise and expressive. She’s supported artists such as Marcellus Pittman, Joy Anonymous, Prosumer, Massimiliano Pagliara, Manuel Darquart, Harvey Sutherland, Club Angel, and Partiboi69.
She is a resident DJ at Chinese Laundry, one of Sydney’s longest-running underground clubs, and continues to play across the city’s venues, outdoor parties, and radio platforms.
MILKPASTE
Milkpaste is a Sydney-based vinyl DJ who’s been digging for over a decade, blending boogie, balearic, house, and techno into sets that nod intentionally to the roots of queer dance music. She’s shared the stage with icons like Lil Louis, Jayda G, Boris and Soichi Terada. Milkpaste’s approach is rooted in improvisation and intuition—she doesn’t overthink her sets but instead feels the energy of the room and responds in the moment.

Harry is a queer DJ based in Eora. When he’s feeling brave, he likes to play slow and seek out ways to engage a dance floor without necessarily going all bang bang pow with the energy. Expect curious tracks from the deep sea, with interesting arrangement and sound design that set up an interesting vibe and narrative.
