Loose Ends w/ Mia Sørlie
Event Description
You can hear it in the blends before the peak hits - the kind of care that doesn’t ask for attention but earns it anyway. The transitions that don’t announce themselves. The restraint. The long arcs. When the booth becomes less a stage and more an instrument, tuned for a hundred bodies moving without needing to be told how. That’s what we’re building toward. And we’ve found the right hands.
We're back above the city for another night of minimal house and low-ceiling pressure. Same four-corner unity horns. Same tapped horn subs. Same room where good sets turn into great ones, if you let them.
Vinyl has a way of teaching things - about timing, tone, restraint. Even when @mulhearn.com.au isn’t spinning wax, that sensibility lingers. He moves through the finer shades of minimal house with intention, favouring feeling over flex. There’s no ego in it. Just care, and a calm kind of certainty - the kind that’s seen him share floors with Ian Pooley, Tom Trago and Mella Dee.
On prime slot is @mmiiiiiiiiaaa Sørlie, a local legend in the truest sense. From DIY beginnings to stages at Lost Paradise, Spilt Milk and Pitch, she’s built a reputation without relying on gimmicks - just deep crates and sharper instincts. She’s played alongside titans (Skin on Skin, Mama Snake, Andy Garvey), repped the city on Triple J, thrown hybrid fashion-rave events through her label Blonde Concept, and run workshops for women in dance music in Canberra. Genre tags don’t stick with Mia. Her sets stretch - raw, playful, layered, human. One of those DJs that knows how to hold a floor when it’s peaking, and guide it when it’s not.
Closing the night: Boggas & Rest in Pink. Two artists with their own momentum, now stepping into the booth together for the first time. @b0ggas, our own resident, has become known for her tactful, emotive sets. Rest in Pink (@moljeanhay ), a One22 resident, has spent the past year pushing through the faster end of the spectrum - playing for names like Sleep D, Sosa, Willaris K, OOTS, Memphis LK, KSMBA and more. Their pairing feels inevitable - and a little unpredictable, in the best way.
Following last events sell out, you'd be bright to get in early for this one.
