Little Music Party
Event Description
Baba Noir:
Rooted in the rich musical traditions of Istanbul and now an integral force in Naarm/Melbourne’s underground music scene, Baba Noir is a selector, vinyl collector, and cultural bridge-builder. Since moving to Melbourne in 2011, he has cultivated a sound that intertwines Turkish-Anatolian psych, folk, funk, and pop with contemporary Middle Eastern dancefloor energy and global groove-based rhythms.
His sets are layered, analog journeys, recontextualizing vintage textures and traditional melodies into hypnotic burners for modern dancefloors. Whether it’s a dusty 7-inch or a long-lost cassette gem, Baba Noir brings emotional depth, groove, and storytelling to every performance.
He has played at some of Melbourne’s most respected venues, including Angel Music Bar and Loop Project Space, and has lit up the dancefloors of standout festivals such as Inner Varnika and Hopkins Creek. His work extends to the airwaves as well, with carefully curated radio shows on Skylab Radio, where he explores the intersections of sound, memory, and culture.
Baba Noir also curates and hosts the popular event series Baba’s House and Baba Spritz, both of which have become known for their warm atmosphere and deep, borderless musical programming—celebrating everything from Anatolian grooves to global bass.
Whether behind the decks, on the radio, or shaping experiences from the ground up, Baba Noir continues to push musical boundaries while honouring tradition. A trusted storyteller and digger, his sets leave audiences moved, connected, and ready to dance.
Danny Telas:
Danny Telas has been studying Caribbean traditional rhythms from Colombia for the past 17 years, as well as other music from around the world. Nowadays, she is an incredible DJ who represents the heritage of all the different cultures she met through music.
Danny is a multi-talented artist, who can dance with fire, perform acrobatics and is also a piano player. With a long trajectory of performing live and DJing throughout South America and Mexico, you’ll most likely hear various original compositions throughout her playlists. As a special treat on the night, we’ll also witness a live element during her DJ set through traditional instruments.
Postponez:
Previously a music journalist, who has a strong passion to discover new sounds and push emerging artists, Postponez has played at a mixture of venues including Lost Sundays (NSW), MONA (TAS), Club 77 (NSW), In The Hanging Garden (TAS), Il Brutto (NZ), Lazy Thinking (NSW), Hope Street Radio (VIC), Civic Underground (NSW), The Grand Poobah (TAS) and Oxford Art Factory (NSW).
With regular visits to Melbourne and Hobart, his diverse style has also landed him support slots for Jennifer Cardini, Alan Dixon, Human Movement, Northeast Party House, WOLTERS, Hasvat Informant, Andras & Cloudy Ku. Over the new year, he performed multiple sets at Lost Paradise while curating an ambient stage and recently made his debut at Dark Mofo.
