Cage Trax Record Launch — Celebrating 25 Years of The Late Show
Event Description
Cage Trax Record Launch — Celebrating 25 Years of The Late Show Saturday 24th May, 07:00PM - 07:00AM, Revolver Upstairs Tickets → Door sales only xx
The Late Show has a strong tenure on club life, running consistently (beside lockdowns) for over 25 years at Naarm institution Revolver Upstairs. Heralded by the one and only DJ Ransom (cue Tribute To Scratching ), whose efforts in dance music kept the foundations solid from day dot, and progressed the sound of DJing from the birth of 2 Step to the now grown up speed garage at 150 bpms. Branched over 2 rooms, the sound of Saturdays was always topical, forward and bass heavy. To look back over the years, The Late Show has documented individual music moments, showcasing Baltimore Club, Nu School Breaks, UK Funky, Niche, Bassline, Baile Funk with all their sub genres and evolution mixed in. From Edit culture, blogging about fidget house, to USB swapping, listening parties and hosting international vibe messiahs, The Late Show's efforts combining great Djing and presenting upfront dance music has merited a trophy in the annals of clubbing, having lasted where others dropped off. So to celebrate such an occasion, The Late Show and Revolver Upstairs Records have put together a 4 track (5 if you buy digital) vinyl release, the premiere pie to roll off the lot. With tracks from TLS residents including Cable 54 (Ransom and Tonelab Damo), Tony 2000, Dj Snow Fleas (aka Lewis CanCut) and Paz, the recordings capture the sounds that emanate from the DJ cage, hence Cage Trax. The release party encourages you to come early (dinner time), as there is a limited amount of pressings on offer on the night, and each cover forms part of a larger mural (keeping each unit individual). Lock in Saturday (of course) 24th of May 2025 from 7pm to 7am. Free entry before 10pm. Expect a live performance from Cable 54 followed by DJ sets from Ransom, Tony 2000, Paz, Lewis CanCut, Alex Virr, Coldpast, Hayj Kovac and Henry Who. Revs For Evs
