We've invited them up to Sunny Sydney for a night of b2bs, pitting S.A.S.H and Breakfast Club regulars together across the night. Wild Child Dayle takes out top honours alongside our own Kerry Wallace, with JMCEE linking arms with Monika Ross to take us through the sunset session. Lee Lawless is rolling in ready to rock teaming up with our bday boy Kemba to slide into the early hours to deliver the low and slow rollers to get the dance floor warmed.

For the third Summer Dance of the season, we welcome an artist whose music feels purpose-built for sunshine: salute. The Austrian-born, now UK-based bass juggernaut has carved out a sonic world where speed and sweetness sit in perfect balance - French house shimmer, UKG bounce, fast-paced percussion and basslines that feel like pure forward motion.
salute’s universe is one of colour, momentum and emotional intensity. Their debut album TRUE MAGIC pulls from Japanese street-racing culture, nostalgic video-game soundtracks and the warmth of classic house. It’s music that can land anywhere, but it hits hardest outdoors - where light, heat and sound wrap around each other. The last time salute touched down in Sydney, they sold out Liberty Hall. This time, they will take the party outside to the courts.
Bringing depth and lift is Soul Wun. Hailing from Newcastle, Steel City’s next great electronic export, he carries the same raw spirit as Mall Grab and Loods. We couldn't be more excited to be inviting London based Musician, producer, DJ and broadcaster Nabihah Iqbahl for her Freda’s debut - with a mighty 3hr DJ set!

Known for her distinctive guitar-led sound and hypnotic production style, she first gained attention through self-released music before signing to Ninja Tune. Her critically acclaimed debut album, Weighing of the Heart (2017), explored themes of identity, memory, and emotional introspection, earning praise for its atmospheric songwriting and genre-fluid approach.

Alongside her recording career, Nabihah is an established DJ and radio broadcaster, presenting shows for BBC Radio, where she curates forward-thinking selections spanning underground electronic music, alternative pop, and experimental sounds. She has performed internationally at major festivals and venues, both live and as a DJ.


Warming up the system we have our very own DJ Crabby and DJ Salami with a special B2B. And fittingly, keeping things going until the early morning we have one of the citys leading forces in Sydneys jazz and dance music scene - Setwun - whos soulful approach to music has made him a key figure.

Plunge headfirst into a monumental wall of sound at Hindley Street Music Hall. As darkness falls, the frayed edges of noise, metal and avant-audiovisual art will coalesce for an evening of ritual and sonic transgression, headlined by the seismic collision of two cult icons of Japanese noise and metal, Boris and Merzbow, in a world premiere Australian exclusive.

A monolithic collision of distortion and devotion, Dronevil marks the 20th anniversary of one of Japan’s most uncompromising unions in sound. Across two decades, Boris and Merzbow have mapped the outer edges of sonic extremity - where metal, noise and drone collapse into a single, tectonic body. For this rare world premiere performance, the pair summon their full gravitational weight of feedback, resonance, and vibration; a towering wall of sound that engulfs, dissolves and transfigures. Exclusive to Adelaide Festival, co-presented with Room40.

A playfully eccentric, pulsating mass of polyrhythms and DIY drone, Takkak Takkak is a new collaboration from prolific Berlin-based Japanese producer Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg) and Vilnius-based Indonesian composer and instrument builder Mo’ong Santoso Pribadi (Raja Kirik). Built on a shared appetite for unstable tempos and unruly textures, Takkak Takkak fuses eardrum-piercing club music, hypnotic gamelan patterns, xenharmonic chimes and howling vocals to create an utterly singular vortex of sound. Tryp plays host to the duo’s psychoactive A/V show, featuring visuals by visionary Singaporean VJ Brandon Tay.

Cutting a singular path through contemporary club music, DJ Haram fuses experimental bass, Jersey club, and Middle Eastern percussion into a sharply dynamic sound. The Brooklyn-based DJ and producer presents a set shaped by her intense Hyperdub release Beside Myself. As one half of 700 Bliss with Moor Mother, Haram’s collaborations span Bbymutha, Billy Woods, Armand Hammer, Debby Friday and Fever Ray, with performances across global stages from Dekmantel to Roskilde.

Enveloping audiences in an avalanche of deep physical sound, percussionist Harry Freeman (Adelaide) presents an interstitial performance utilising percussive elements to build a wall of rich resonant sound. An exercise in subtlety, Freeman guides a harmonious drone that expands to completely inhabit the space, constructing a thunderous soundscape that washes over the audience with distinct physicality.

We are pinching ourselves to be welcoming not one, not two, but three world class selectors for a very special night in Club Freda’s. Yu Su will grace our decks for the first time with a very special 3 hour set to close the night out. Whilst Harvey Sutherland returns after packing out the club space last year. This time he will be playing a 5 hour B2B set with Ibiza’s Bruno Roth.

Kaifeng-born, now London-based Yu Su is a musician, DJ, sound artist and occasional chef. As one of the most prominent Chinese artists with a highly unique voice working across the globe in the last 5 years, her output covers all the ground you’d expect and more. Her multiple critically acclaimed records on UK’s Technicolor (Ninja Tune), Netherlands’s Music from Memory and China’s own Bie Records has seen her nominated for Canada’s Polaris Prize. She has co-produced music with John Carroll Kirby, Duval Timothy and is known for remix works for Parquet Courts, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, and many more. As a DJ, she is unpredictable, idiosyncratic; just “casually having the dance floor transfixed” have put her on the spotlights at clubs and festivals internationally like Dekmantel, Glastonbury, Boiler Room, iii Points, Nuits Sonores, Rainbow Disco Club, Phonox and so on. She has also recently been featured on the cover of Mixmag magazine, marking the first Chinese cover star. She has composed for feature films and fashion brands like Sacai, Jimmy Choo and London/Shanghai based SAMUEL GUÌ YANG.



Harvey Sutherland, the Melbourne-born record producer, keyboard player, club DJ and bandleader, made a name amongst his hometown’s electronic underground with a string of cult dance singles. Early 12-inches like ‘Bermuda’ and ‘Priestess’ were records in love with classic soul and disco, but his debut album “Boy” was guided by his obsessional traits and habits, ending up in a place he describes as “Neurotic Funk”. His latest album “Debt” is an exercise in techno minimalism — laser-focused club jams like ‘Hummingbird’ and ‘Nobody Like U’ set the stage for Harvey’s next chapter. A seasoned performer, he’s taken his live band to Glastonbury, dragged his Juno-60 into Berghain and turned the Melbourne Recital Centre into a full-fledged nightclub. Eclectic and groovy, Harvey Sutherland is Neurotic Funk.



Bruno Roth is a special guest, all the way from the White Isle. 10th-generation Ibicenco, his family have a rich musical history in Ibiza, with Bruno carrying the torch via his own productions, Cas Gayati label and expertly-selected records in the tradition of the golden years of Balearic club culture. His Australian debut will take you back to Pacha in ’98, whether you were there or not!

A soulful singer, commanding ballroom performer, and confident rapper, Coles moves effortlessly across house, hip-hop, and soul, pushing boundaries of genre, gender, and expression. Hailing from Staten Island, he brings an unfiltered, shape-shifting approach to music that challenges conventions placed on queer Black artists and casts them aside.

His debut album SweetFaceKillah (Don’t Sleep) showcases this fearless versatility, following collaborations with Joy Orbison, Mella Dee, and Richard Russell’s Everything Is Recorded, plus appearances in Dazed’s cult film Gang. After releasing the deeply personal Divine EP in 2021, created while navigating housing insecurity, Coles now steps fully into his vision — supported by a close-knit creative family — emerging as one of NYC’s most compelling modern musical expressionists.

Kaleidoscopic sounds to illuminate the summers’ night.
A new day invites us back to our earthly selves, completing Tryp with a restorative blend of deep listening, heavenly hymnals, IDM and mystic folksong on the banks of Karrawirra Parri. Drift through hazy afternoon ambience into the evening’s ecstatic electronica; from the wine-soaked sounds of Wilson Tanner to james K’s downtempo dream pop. A festival tonic for the thinkers, the dreamers and the groovers.

James K is the musical vision of NYC's Jamie Krasner: a vocalist, producer and multidisciplinary artist whose ethereal, genre-defying sound has quietly shaped the trajectory of underground music for over a decade. With releases on UNO NYC, Dial, and Incienso and collaborations with the likes of Yves Tumor, Mykki Blanco, Moin and Oli XL, her acclaimed third album, Friend (2025), returns to her creative core; weaving melody, emotion and technical mastery into a crystalline distillation of her musical eclecticism that feels at once both intimate and expansive.

American multidisciplinary artist Lyra Pramuk (now based in Berlin), brings her unique interpretation of devotional music to Tryp. Combining a rapidly evolving technological approach with the power of the human voice, Pramuk will transport audiences to a transformative and meditative state. Following the success of her last album Fountain, Pramuk’s expansive new release Hymnal is her own book of transformational worship songs, drawing from folk, house, techno, gospel and her formal classical education to construct a symphonic universe.

British-born, Berlin-based Sam Barker has long sought to push the boundaries of experimental dance music. The Berghain resident and co-founder of the Leisure System label, whose accompanying club night held the longest residency in Berghain’s history, consistently looks beyond the realm of 4/4 techno to explore left-field sound design and rhythmic complexity. His string of signature solo releases on Ostgut Ton explore the twisting, rhythmic extremes of modular electronics and his live sets unselfconsciously combine bass music, breakbeat and dub elements into a uniquely shimmering brand of ambient techno that still maintains a strong connection to the dancefloor.

DJ /rupture (Jace Clayton) is a musical nomad whose practice spans continents, genres and sonic cultures. A DJ and turntablist since the mid 90s, DJ /rupture first made waves internationally with the genre-melting Gold Teeth Thief mix, layering hip-hop, Middle Eastern tones, and dancehall - named as one of the "50 Records of the Year" by The Wire in 2001. Known for his mastery of clashing genres and diversity of sound, since then DJ /rupture has continually blurred boundaries, inviting listeners into global soundscapes where rhythm, resonance and radical listening rule.

Reimagining ‘serious’ music with their own unique style of irreverence, DJ and club organiser D-grade loves to play at the margins between ‘mind’ and ‘body’ music. Based on Gadigal land, D-grade revels in frenetic, hypnotic, bossy and beautiful sounds, performing noteworthy sets as part of Dark Mofo, Soft Centre and more. For D-Grade, sharing music is about listening, receiving, exchanging, moving, feeling, responding, and reciprocating.

Andrew Wilson (Andras) and John Tanner (Eleventeen Eston) create joyous, lush soundscapes shaped by the environment in which it was recorded. Laidback, sparse, warm and escalating, their albums are not just collections of compositions but documents of place, woven with the ambient textures of the world around them and painted with improvised electronics and lo-fi textures. Their most recent release, Legends (2025), was recorded among the vines of South Australia’s Manon Farm and captures the agricultural, ambient haze of a working vineyard, where ducks, dogs, tractors and plovers are all fermented along with brass, balalaika, balloon, pipe and synths, letting the sediment linger in the bottle.

Iranian-born, Adelaide based santur player Maryam Rahmani joins with composer and pianist Sebastian Collen to present a conversation in preparation and disassembly of instrumentation and the joy of deep sound. Drawing on each artist's cultural background and craft, combined with non-traditional techniques and experimentation, the work presented is a decidedly moving and fresh take on classical traditions.

Silver Tapes second edition presents Berlin based experimental sound/noise artist Nick Klein. He will be performing at The Vanguard in Sydney on the 12th of February and will be supported by live ambient artists JWPATON, gi & BODYXVIII .  

Klein is an artist working in sound and art and sometimes (begrudgingly) sound art with a lean towards the social potential in those modalities as they interact. Klein has recorded a large amount of music for tape, CD, digital file, and vinyl editions for music labels around the world, as well as running his own amorphous label project PL (primitive languages, Psychic Liberation, etc). Concurrently, to the best of his ability, he has shown work in visual art contexts. Klein is uninterested in the prohibitive ideological tropes and circumstances that both contexts offer, and focuses the intent of his work on trying to see what productive energy comes from the friction between the two.  

Klein likes loud volume, cooking, offline community building, records, bars, synthesisers, and comedy.

Meanjin/Brisbane atmospheric post-pop producer Fatshaudi (Rachael Ryan) creates emotional songscapes. By contrasting strong textured electronics against harmonically saturated melodies and voice, Fatshaudi creates evocative pulse ladened sounds that push beyond the edges of song form.  

Mono is the IMA's experimental sound program curated by Room40. Since 2006, Mono has brought sonic experimentation and boundary-pushing performance to Brisbane/Meanjin. Mono turns 20 in 2026.

The Late Show is Revolver’s weekly Saturday night. Spread over two rooms, the night begins with Colonel Tan’s restaurant, then gathers pace around 10pm. In the front room, a barrage of Garage, Bassline, Techno and Qgom is shelled down; while in the back-bar, DJ’s splice together House with layers of Italo, Soca and Afro. The first Saturday in the last month of Summer is absolute Doozie of a show, and showcase, with rising Dutch star Dennis Quin large and in charge for 3 hours of power at the peak of the night before PARKER's Doozie Records step into the booth to take us into the sunrise. O'Gio makes a return from the West Coast to thrown down one last time on the East Coast before he makes his move back to the green pastures of Europe.

Baalti arrive in Australia following a rapid ascent built on rhythm, pressure and deep listening.
Over the past few years, the San Francisco–based DJ & producer duo have carved out a singular space in contemporary club music, reframing Indian-laced house and UK bass through a distinctly South Asian lens. Their sound functions as a cultural mosaic, connecting the physicality of global sound system traditions with the forward momentum of modern club music.
While studying Dek Bass — music made for West Bengal sound systems — the extremity and raw force of the sound left a lasting impression. That influence now sits at the core of Baalti’s work: bass-heavy, groove-driven and rhythmically dense, reimagining familiar found sounds into abstract, floor-ready forms. There’s an organic looseness to their productions, an unassuming rawness that lets rhythm lead and culture speak without overstatement. Functional yet emotional, rooted yet restless.
Their latest EP, Mela (2025), released via Steel City Dance Discs, takes its name from the Hindi word for “festival” — a place of gathering. The record distils Baalti’s ethos: communal energy, percussive movement and an openness that invites connection on the dancefloor. It follows a growing catalogue of standout releases that have earned co-signs from Ahadadream, Nikki Nair, DJ ADHD, Chloé Robinson, TSVI, Tom VR, Maribou State, Jamz Supernova and Sarah Story.
Baalti’s rise has been mirrored across stages and airwaves worldwide. Festival appearances at Glastonbury, Dialled In and MELT have sat alongside sets on NTS, Rinse FM, The Lot Radio, Beats In Space, Kiosk Radio and Refuge Worldwide. In 2025, they supported Disclosure on their North American tour, shared stages with Four Tet, and continued to build community through their own event series, Baalti & Friends.
Known for their driving, high-impact sets, Baalti bring a vault of unreleased originals into every performance — many already familiar through constant ID requests. Their music is tactile and physical, shaped by sound systems and lived dancefloors, carrying a deep sense of shared experience.
Presented in collaboration with South Asian creative collective Kerfew, the tour is shaped with intention. The support lineups are carefully chosen to sit within Baalti’s world, amplifying its rhythm, weight and cultural resonance, so each night unfolds as a shared experience rather than a standalone moment.
With Mela as the foundation, Baalti’s Australian debut invites audiences into a space where bass, rhythm and cultural memory move together.

Music For Change and Bar Freda's team up once again on February 6th for a night of deep, warm, and soulful music inspired by the sounds of Detroit and Chicago from some of our favourite selectors in Eora/Sydney.

Entry is FREE, but we are taking donations for a grassroots, community-led group working in Iran who are helping injured people cover medical expenses such as surgery, medication, and first aid due to the government’s attacks on protesters and civilians. For safety reasons, this group is acting anonymously to avoid being targeted by the government and military, and would prefer we do not publicly name them.
